· An Art showing Salon open to all visual artists and/or divers with all work based on the theme of conservation of all water life both the aquatic and marine environments. Michael Angelo Gagliardi will curate the show.
· Showing open to the following mediums in equal proportions: Painting/Drawings, Sculpture, and Digital Art. Standard photography will not be considered for this salon as OW-U provides a photography/video competition, see: underwatercompetition.com. Dive site maps will be considered ineligible as this best fit cartography.
· A $20 Entry fee to be required to enter show for one to four artworks entered. There is a $5.00 fee for each additional artwork above four. Payment is made by credit card at time of entry through the Our World-Underwater website, or by check or money order payable to Our World-Underwater and sent to 16336 South 104th Avenue, Orland Park, IL 60467. Payment of fee is for consideration and not a guarantee of acceptance.
Entry Process:
(1) Make payment to Our World-Underwater. Upon receipt of payment, OW-U will E-mail you a confirmation of payment. Payment must be received by January 20, 2012.
(2) You must reply to the OW-U confirmation of payment E-Mail with:
(a) Your contact information,
(b) Name Dimension and Medium, and
(C) JPGs of your artwork. Please note only JPGs of artists who have paid their entry fee will be considered. All entries are via E-mail. E-mail files must be in JPG format. Please keep each JPG file 1 MB or less in size.
(3) You will be notified via E-mail by February 1, 2012.
Admission judges to be made up of OUR WORLD UNDERWATER personal. First, second, or third place awards to be judge by ballot of show attendees.
· Show runs full length of OUR WORLD UNDERWATER, February 17 - 19, 2012.
· Deadline for applications – Jan 20, 2012 - See Prospectus.
· All Art to be for sale, 70% to the artist, 30% to OUR WORLD UNDERWATER to be used for conservation charities.
· 2d art to be limited to 36” x 36”, 3D work limited to 6’ H x 3’W x 3’D. Pedestals to be provided by the artist if needed.
Goals:
· To promote Conservation and the beauty of the living waters of planet Earth and the artists who depict them.
· First, Second and Third place awards – plaque and cash prizes. Amount to be determined by admissions fee estimates.
